Alma Shrader Spinella, of Bedford, VA, and formerly of 201
Springdale Avenue, Princeton, passed away on Saturday, August
22, 2009 at the Bedford County Nursing Home in Bedford, VA.
She was born in McComas and was a daughter of the late
Ralph and Florence Tabor Shrader. She had been a resident of
Princeton for 28 years and was a graduate of Elkhorn High
School. She was a member of the Kee Street United Methodist
Church and was a member of the AARP in Princeton. She enjoyed
walking and being at Mercer Mall and had a love for being in
West Virginia.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by
her husband, Rev. Tony Spinella, Sr.; a son, Tony Spinella,
Jr.; five sisters, Evelyn Stamper, Beulah Shrader, Zelma
Hopkins, Essie Farley and Isabelle Duncan; and two brothers,
Harrison Shrader and Ellwood Shrader. She was the last
surviving member of her immediate family.
Survivors include:
- Daughters: Mrs. David (Darlene) Fuqua of Bedford, VA and
Mrs. Larry (Louise) Williamson of Lynchburg, VA
- Son: Donald Ray Spinella of Santa Rosa Beach, FL
- 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great
grandson
- Several nieces and nephews
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, August 26,
2009 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in
Bluewell with Rev. D. Homer Stewart officiating. Entombment
will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Bluewell.
