John Madison Jackson

BLUEFIELD - John Madison Jackson, 58, of Route 2 Box 145, Bluefield, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005 at his residence. Mr. Jackson was born on April 30, 1947 in McComas, a son of the late Joe R. Jackson and Esther Odell Bowers Jackson. Mr. Jackson had been a life-long resident of Mercer County and had formerly made his home in Montcalm. He was a member of the Crane Creek Pentecostal Holiness Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Holcomb and four brothers, Freddy, Ray, Teddy and Danny Jackson. Survivors include: Sisters, Ruth Parker of Chesapeake, Va., Nancy Ferrell and husband M.D. of Princeton, Beth Hicks and husband Danny of Rock; brothers, David Jackson and wife Peggy of Mullens, Dale Jackson of Chesapeake, Tommy Jackson of Minnesota. Graveside rites will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005 at Woodlawn Memorial Park Chapel Mausoleum in Bluewell with the Rev. Glenn Cartwright officiating. Burial will follow the graveside rites in Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Those attending the graveside rites are asked to meet at the Woodlawn Memorial Park Chapel Mausoleum on Tuesday by 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asked that memorial contributions be made to the Crane Creek Pentecostal Holiness Church, Route 2, McComas, WV 24735 in memory of Mrs. Odell Jackson the mother of John Jackson. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell is serving the Jackson family.
