Mary Francis "Twinkle" Cole Burgess Twinkling roses in memory of Twinkle - may she rest in peace


NEW CREEK — Mary Francis Burgess, 67, of New Creek, died on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007, at Heartland of Keyser Nursing Home.

Born May 21, 1940, in Lillybrook, she was the daughter of Norma Kathleen (Burton) Cole of Sophia and the late Richard Odell Cole.

Mrs. Burgess was a retired paralegal and also a member of Antioch United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Zane G. Burgess, Sr.; her sons, Michael Livingston and his wife, Laura, of Short Gap, Christopher Livingston and his wife, Tammy, of Statesville, N.C., and Matthew Livingston of Winchester, Va.; her stepdaughter, Lesa Ann Reid and her husband, Jerry, of Taylorsville, Md.; her stepson, Zane G. Burgess, Jr., and his wife, Kelly, of Burlington; her sisters, Linda S. Britton and her husband, Jeff, and Judy A. Dodd and her husband, Olin, all of Beckley; and seven grandchildren, Emily and Cole Livingston, Austin and Brook Livingston, Krista and Erika Reid, and Hannah Burgess.

A memorial service will be conducted at the Antioch United Methodist Church on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Gwen Wolford officiating.

Twinkle passed away at 11:20 p.m. on October 2nd at the Heartland Nursing Home in Keyser, WV.  She did not suffer a lot.  She will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at her church, the Antioch United Methodist Church in New Creek, WV, right outside of Keyser.  We would appreciate prayers from each and every one of you who knew our family and especially good friends with Twinkle.  Also, we would appreciate it if you might consider sending our mother a card just letting her know how you knew Twinkle and some good memories of her during our years living at the McComas Coal Camp.  Our mother’s name is

Mother is having a very hard time with the loss of her oldest daughter and is not well herself.
