PRINCETON — Clarence Gillenwater, 83, of GlenWood Park Retirement Village, Princeton, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2007 at Princeton Community Hospital in Princeton. Born March 2, 1923 at McComas, he was the son of the late William Harve Gillenwater and Dora Mae Gills Gillenwater.
Mr. Gillenwater was retired from American Coal Company at McComas and was a member of the U.M.W.A. He attended the New Covenant Pentecostal Church in Princeton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Samuel Gillenwater, Alvie Gillenwater, Harvey Gillenwater and Raymond Gillenwater; and three sisters, Gertrude Ammerman, Thelma Gillenwater and Elvie Gillenwater.
Survivors include four brothers, Franklin Gillenwater and Mack Gillenwater both of Princeton, David Gillenwater of Virginia Beach, Va. and Joe Gillenwater of Radford, Va.; and two sisters, Pauline Rhodes of Oak Hill and Corinne Hedger of Corpus Christie, Texas.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Paul Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
