  Evelyn Marie Purdy Kade

LERONA — Evelyn Marie Purdy Kade, 82, of the Phillips Personal Care Home, Lerona, formerly of Kirk Street, Princeton, passed away peacefully Thursday evening, May 17, 2007, at her residence.

Born April 21, 1925 at McComas, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary Spencer Purdy. Mrs. Kade was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith. Mrs. Kade loved to cook and enjoyed working in her flower gardens.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kirby Carson Kade; a grandson, Michael Maxwell; along with siblings, Alex Purdy, Garland Hedrick, Lawrence Hedrick and Louise Purdy.

Survivors include her devoted and loving children and their spouses, Nancy Marie and Douglas Crews of New Castle, Del., Priscilla Ann and Bev Maxwell of Spanishburg, James C. “Jim” and Kathy Kade of Bluefield, Va.; seven grandchildren, Sharon, Karen, Doug, Scott, Brian, Geoff and Zach; three great grandchildren, Adam, Andrew and Austin; one sister, Annie Manning of Edon, Ohio; a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 20, 2007, from the Burns Wornal Chapel of Memorial Funeral Directory on Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Wallace Smith officiating.

Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 2 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Roselawn Memorial Gardens on Courthouse Road in Princeton, family and friends wishing to attend are requested to meet at the funeral home on Monday by 9:30 a.m.
